New England Hundred Highest Mountains

The hundred highest mountains in new england are generally defined as mountains with at least 200′ of prominence

On the summit of Pico Peak, our final mountain of the New England Hundred Highest, with Jake and Garrett

in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. They range in elevation from Mount Washington (6,288ft) to Dorset Mountain (3,760ft). Most of them have trails to the summit, but are dozen or so involving bushwhacking near the summits.

Matthew and I started hiking in New England during our freshman year at MIT in 2003 and eventually finished hiking the hundred highest on Pico Peak in Vermont in June 2012 during grad school at MIT. This task was made more difficult because we never owned a car in Boston, so had to either convince friends with cars to join us or, once we got old enough, rent cars.
