Tusk O’Granite Mountain (5,566ft) and Granite Mountain (5,629ft)
Nov 16, 2019
I had Saturday morning to get a quick hike in before heading east of the crest, so decided to hit a few peaks on I-90. I hiked up Granite Mountain first, encountering snow above 5,000ft. Microspikes were helpful. From the lookout tower on top I carefully tiptoed over the snowy boulders down the northwest ridge, then bushwhacked up to the summit. I returned the same way, getting back to the car as the rain started, ready to head east of the crest for more peaks.
